ART & DESIGN HIGH SCHOOL TO HOLD
A SPECIAL "HAIRSPRAY" HALLOWEEN FUNDRAISING EVENT
TO HELP RESTORE "THEATRE ARTS"

The Alumni Association of the High School of Art and Design -- the school where Harvey Fierstein developed his
talents (and first dressed in drag) -- will be auctioning off 44 tickets to the Thursday, October 31st performance of the hit musical, Hairspray, to benefit the restoration of Theatre Arts at the school.

The minimum bid for each ticket is $200, and all bids over the $100 box office price are fully tax-deductible.
Seats are in the Front Mezzanine, rows D and E, center, and will go to the highest bidders. The top bidder will
also receive a special gift donated by Harvey Fierstein.

The bids will be accepted by fax or email and the auction ends at midnight, EDT, on Monday, October 21st.
Bids may be faxed to: 212-752-4945, or emailed to: HairsprayTickets@artalumni.com. Payments for winning
bids must be received by Friday, October 25th, and must be paid by certified check or money order. For bidding
information call: 212-229-8320 or visit http://www.artalumni.com/pages/hairspray.html

The High School of Art & Design, founded as the School of Industrial Art in 1936, is located at 1075 Second
Avenue and is New York's only public high school teaching professional art. The school's art program has been
severly affected by budget cuts enforced during the past decade. The school would very much like to restore
Theatre Arts to its curriculum.
